1/4, 1/2, 3/8, 3/4 Stainless Steel Coil Tubing,

Stainless steel coil tubing is manufactured in one continuous length with OD from 1/4 to 1 inch and wall thickness from 0.035 to 0.065 inch, we are capable of producing long lengths of stainless tubing in coils, for some tubing sizes, and we can achieve coils that even up to 2000 m in length without any longitudinal or orbital welds, all the coil tubing is conducted 100% tested at the appropriate pressure.

ASTM A213 / A269 standard specification is applied for seamless stainless steel tubing, ASTM A249 / A269 for welded tube, with both bright annealing finish and annealing pickling finish, generally, seamless coil tubing can be provided with no risk of impurities that are often associated with welding tube, seamless tubing is the preferred option for critical applications.

UK, USA, Canada and South Africa are the main markets for our stainless steel coil tubing, coiled tubing is widely used for chemical, machinery, electronics, electric power, textile, rubber, food, medical equipment, aviation, aerospace, communications, petroleum and other industrial fields.

Coil Tubing In Stainless Steel And Nickel Alloys

Dongshang Stainless is a leading manufacturer of coil tubing covering different stainless steel grades, duplex steels as well as nickel alloys, selecting which material depends on specific applications.

304/304L and 316/316Lare wide used grades in the stainless steel group due to their excellent corrosion resistance and properties, these stainless steels can resist high temperature, low temperature as well as high pressure, and they are cost-effective materials relatively.

304/304L Stainless Steel Coil Tubing

304 grade is a typical 18/8 Cr/Ni stainless steel material, it possesses good corrosion resistance and properties to meet many applications, it is a cost-effective and affordable grade, 304L is low carbon 304 grade.

However, 304/304L is not suitable for use in saltwater environments, because corrosion may occur in Chloride conditions.

316/316L Stainless Steel Coil Tubing

316 stainless steel is the second used grade, it contains 2.0 – 3.0 molybdenum element which makes it better corrosion resistance than 304, and for this reason, it is a good option for marine applications.

After annealing, straightened stainless steel tubing is in soft condition, tubing can be bent, formed and fabricated in various directions and angles, small diameter and thin wall coil tubing are available for special applications.

Stainless Steel Coil Tubing Dimensions

Stainless steel tube is designed in coiling form, generally small diameter, and maximum tube length can be 1000 meters, without any joint metal, there are a large range of sizes of stainless steel tubing for coiling, standard outside diameter is given below, and wall thickness ranges from 0.0275 inch – 0.083 inch, maximum length reach to 1000 meters.

BWG gauge is usually defined as the wall thickness of the tubing, checking more sizes.

Stainless Steel Coil Tubing Manufacturing

2507, 2205 Coiled Tubing

The production process of extra-long stainless steel coiled tubes is based on cold rolled tubes and cold-drawn to ensure the durability and flexibility of the material to achieve a soft state (HRB ≤ 90). It allows customers to bend easily and make leak-free connections for use in all complex environments.

Heat treatment process used in the vacuum bright heat treatment process, the internal and external surfaces of the stainless steel tube will not be in contact with oxygen and do not produce oxidation skin, so the internal and external surfaces of the stainless steel coils are cleaner, brighter, more delicate, surface roughness 0.4μm below.

The finished products of ultra-long stainless steel seamless coils have passed the pneumatic confinement test and eddy current flaw inspection, and we can add the hydraulic test (10MPa-35MPa) and ultrasonic flaw inspection according to the customer’s demand; we will provide the inspection report.

Mill finish and bright annealed finishes can be chosen for coil tubing, if required, a precise drawn process is available to obtain tight dimensions, bright annealing tube has a smooth surface. Coiled tubing can be formed in various shapes depending on applications, for example, helical coil and horizontal tube.

Benefits of Coil Tubing

The traditional method of welding long stick tubing end to end or with fittings is a very labor-intensive procedure., this welding process is prolonged and costly, and using coil tubing not only takes a fraction of the time, reducing labor costs, but it also provides for a much safer and maintenance free installation.

  • Increased corrosion resistance, thanks to stainless steel, duplex and nickel alloy properties.
  • Improved reliability—using fewer mechanical fittings or welds reduces the opportunity for defects, such as leaks and other long-term failures
  • Reduced installation labor costs—installing a continuous length of tube takes less time and is more reliable than coupling multiple shorter lengths
