317L is a molybdenum bearing Austenitic chromium nickel steel, compared to 316L, 317l more molybdenum, and low carbon content, so 317L has a excellent corrosion resistance, 317l is used for many applications, especially in sulfurous acid compounds environment, alloy 317L is non-magnetic in the annealed condition. It cannot be hardened by heat treatment.
