ASTM A249 TP304L stainless steel welded tube is produced in a wide range of sizes, the common sizes have 16, 19.05, 25.4, 31.8, 38.1, 44.45, 50.8, 60.3 mm OD, with 0.71, 0.89, 1.0, 1.25, 1.5, 1.65, 2.11 mm wall thickness. ASTM A249 TP304L refers to welded austenitic stainless steel tubes for boilers, superheaters, heat exchangers, and condensers that comply with the ASTM A249/A249M standard, made of 304L (UNS S30403) grade, 304L grade is a low carbon version of 304 stainless steel.

ASTM A249 TP304L Welded Tube Specifications
- Standard: ASTM A249/A249M, which specifies welded austenitic stainless steel tubes for use in boilers, superheaters, heat exchangers, and condensers.
- Material Grade: TP304L (i.e., 304L), equivalent to UNS S30403, is an ultra-low-carbon austenitic stainless steel with a carbon content of ≤0.035% to enhance resistance to intergranular corrosion after welding.
- Typical Composition: Cr 18.0–20.0%, Ni 8.00–12.00%, Mn ≤2.0%, Si ≤1.0%, P ≤0.045%, S ≤0.030%.
- Delivery condition: Solution annealed and pickled (or bright annealed), offering good corrosion resistance, formability, and weldability.
- Applications: Medium- and low-pressure heat exchange equipment, boiler tubes, and condenser tubes in the chemical, power, pharmaceutical, and food industries, particularly suitable for welded structural components.

TIG Welding Stainless Steel Tube
We manufacture ASTM A249 304L stainless steel welded tube using TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding method, TIG welding can protect tube surface from oxidation, making welding bead integrity with base metal, and the same level, argon tungsten-arc welding is usually used for thin wall thickness stainless steel tube. These welding-type stainless steel tubes are suitable for heat exchanger systems.
Annealed Pickling Stainless Steel Welded Tube
A249 welded tube should be annealed solution after welding, general Austenitic stainless steel heat treatment temperature from 1040 to 1150 degree Celsius, different grades have different annealing temperatures, this process can remove oxidation scale, plain grain structure and relieve stress, making the tube soft and easy to fabricate, after annealing, ss tubes should be pickling in mixture of acid, removing scale and cleaning the surface, then passivation condition form a layer of oxidation film protecting tubes.
Bright Annealing Stainless Steel Welded Tube
Bright annealing (BA) finish is another surface condition, it improves the tube surface’s bright level and makes the surface clean, a perfect additional requirement besides annealing passivation finishing.
